Lucky D’s
With that laid-back East Village attitude and killer décor to boot, Lucky D’s reopens its doors after a massive design overhaul to make it one of downtown’s chicest lounges without pretense. Famed local designer Davis Krumins, whose work consists of Stingaree and the newly redesigned Side Bar, made Lucky D’s comfortable yet stylish while keeping its original rock ‘n’ roll vibe with distressed black leather and recycled wood candle wall. The sexy, yet natural ambiance with wood planks throughout the space, highlighted by the bar with decorative carved wood panels at the base and a floating soffit with traditional gold Japanese masks on brown faux fur, makes a statement. With no bottle service in sight and a strict dress code, the lounge contrasts the usual nightclub suspects with zero attitude and hassle so that any downtown partygoer is welcome. To complement its no-fuss attitude, Lucky D’s offers a neighborhood approach of $5 cocktail selections, as well as a menu designed by Contemporary Cocktails that showcases natural juices, boutique liquor brands, spices, herbs, roots and flowers for a distinctive taste. Its food menu consists of easy eats, including poke, lettuce cups, salad wraps, skewers and duck burritos by award-winning chef Rodrigo camarga. And of course, enjoy booty-shaking music and interactive events like guest bartenders and locals nights.
